Steve Spanos began working with children and youth when he was in high school. His lifelong desire to serve had its beginnings at the young age of five when he was exposed to a culture of service at his community church. Since then, he has been blessed to be able to use his gifts to mentor troubled children while in high school, to coach various levels of baseball for 20+ years, and to work with children and adults who struggle with the challenges of dependency.
Steve is a Bay Area native. He loves heading west to the beach, north to the Russian River, East to Lake Tahoe, and south to Disneyland.
His greatest passion is to serve. God has delivered him from a life of hopelessness to one of promise. Steve sees God as a partner on a journey. He feels blessed that his new life allows him to see the great things that God is doing in and through him, even amidst the trials.
Steve is committed to fostering an environment that demonstrates the love of Christ and that allows the children and youth to live out during the week what they have learned at New Beginnings on the weekend.
