Vocationally, she has served as a ministry assistant for the following ministries: adult biblical education, small groups, men's ministry, women's ministry, marriage ministry, young adults' ministry, senior's ministry, and the singles' ministry– where she ultimately led and taught weekly Bible studies. Non-vocationally, she has served in the Worship Arts ministry as a choir and praise team member, and in annual musical productions. Additionally, Andrea was commissioned as a short-term missionary both locally in San Francisco, nationally to the San Joaquin Valley and New Orleans, and globally to the Philippines.  Previously, she served as the Pastoral Care Coordinator, providing support to the pastors in caring for our NBCC partners, whether in joy (births, marriages), sorrow (funerals/memorials), and everything in between (prayer, counseling, baptisms, child dedications).  Andrea defines her call as helping to lay a solid foundation of faith in Christ by teaching God's Word, and to love others well by caring for them in times of joy and sorrow. 

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and lived there until age 11, whereafter she moved to Burlingame, California, where she finished high school. Soon after, she enlisted in the US Air Force as an Emergency Actions Controller and was stationed in Valdosta, Georgia, doing a brief deployment to the country of Bahrain. She is the proud mother of two sons, Jadan and Benjamin, and is like a second mother to many of their friends. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Andrea likes to travel, bake, watch movies and tv shows, and go to concerts and plays.

Describing her journey with God, she says, "Jesus has taken me from feeling hopeless, worthless, and unseen to being full of hope by miraculously answering many prayers for myself and others, assigning me with the utmost worth by His willingness to die for me, and choosing me to be His child and giving me gifts to make a difference in the lives of others. I am full of purpose, gratefulness, hope, faith, and love simply because of what He has done for me and others in my life!"

Originally from New York, Savannah did not grow up regularly attending church, outside of holidays and a few times throughout the year. God first began planting seeds through Christian friends in high school. Later, a personal health crisis in college and what Savannah experienced as miraculous healing became a defining moment in her journey toward Jesus. Years later, God would even use one of her fifth-grade students to help lead her back to Himself and into the local church.

Savannah earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta and her Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. After college, she joined Teach For America and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where she began teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over five years in education, Savannah saw firsthand that students were searching for more than academic success—they were asking questions about identity, purpose, faith, and Jesus. Those experiences deepened her passion for investing in the next generation.

Today, Savannah serves as Director of Student Ministry at New Beginnings Community Church, where she is passionate about helping middle and high school students know Jesus personally, understand Scripture, and develop a faith of their own. Student ministry is especially meaningful to her because adolescence was when God first began drawing her to Himself. Her background in psychology and education has also given her an appreciation for how formative these years are and the incredible opportunity the church has to partner with families in discipling the next generation. Savannah is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Ministry and Church Leadership at Western Seminary.

Adventure has also been a consistent part of Savannah’s story. During college, she spent a semester living aboard a ship through Semester at Sea, traveling to 13 countries. When she moved from Memphis to California, she took a two-week road trip across the country with her cat, Mr. Lucky, visiting places like the Grand Canyon along the way. Outside of ministry, Savannah loves the beach, swimming, exploring nature, and whale and dolphin watching—and is always ready for her next adventure.
