Discussion Group Resources

Thank you for stepping up to facilitate a Jesus Way Group! We’re grateful for you. To support you, we’ve created group guide resources for your discussions, including options for Students and Kids. These guides are designed to help create safe spaces where we can listen, learn, and grow together—reflecting Jesus’ love and building bridges across our differences.

Session 1: Engaging at the Level of Story

In this session, we’ll explore what it means to engage at the level of story—shifting from debating opinions to listening to personal experiences. As we listen first and seek to understand, we create space for deeper empathy, connection, and meaningful conversation.

Session 2: Practice Kindness

Practice Kindness is about choosing strength under control—using our words, emotions, and influence to build up, not tear down. Following Jesus’ example of compassion and truth, we put kindness into action to help create a more loving, healing world.

Session 3: Radical Empathy

Radical Empathy is choosing to understand another person’s story and emotions before responding. It means listening deeply, honoring their humanity, and reflecting Jesus’ compassion—even without agreement.

Session 4: Break The Power of Labels

Labels create distance and division by reducing people to categories instead of seeing them as whole human beings. Breaking the power of labels invites us to see others through dignity, story, and compassion, allowing empathy to grow and deeper connection to form.
