Summary
⏳ Not everything in life moves at the speed of a scroll. In a world that values speed, efficiency, and instant results, slowing down can feel countercultural, even uncomfortable. But what if waiting isn’t a setback, but a space for growth? In his latest hashtag#NBCCVoices article, Pastor Ed Ware reflects on "The Hidden Power of Going Slow." Drawing from both everyday experiences and timeless wisdom, he reminds us that the seasons of delay, the waiting rooms of life, can actually be where the most meaningful transformation takes place. Whether you’re waiting for clarity, healing, or a breakthrough, this piece encourages us to reframe the pause as purpose. 📝 Read the full article to see how slowing down might be your best step forward.

In today’s world, speed is everything. We’re trained to move fast, think fast, and deliver even faster. With just a few taps on a screen, we can order a meal, book a flight, or connect across the world in seconds. Technology makes life easier, but it also builds an expectation: that everything in life should happen right now.

This mindset often shapes how we view progress, success and even personal growth. We’re conditioned to believe that if something doesn’t happen immediately, something must be wrong. But life doesn’t always follow that script.

Delays happen. Outcomes take time. And we don’t always get the answers we want when we want them. Whether it’s waiting for clarity on a job decision, navigating an ongoing health concern, or working through challenges in a relationship, we all face seasons where things just don’t move… as quickly… as we hoped.

Waiting isn’t easy, but it’s not wasted.

In those slower seasons, something deeper can happen. We learn to listen more carefully. We reflect more honestly. We build endurance we didn’t know we had. And if you're a person of faith, you may come to believe, as I do, that waiting is often where God does His deepest work in us. Scripture speaks to this:

“Wait on the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)

That kind of waiting isn’t passive, it’s active trust. It’s choosing to be patient when everything in you wants to press ahead. It’s holding onto hope even when the timeline is unclear.

So what if, instead of seeing waiting as weakness, we began to see it as a kind of strength or even as a super power?

This super power slows us down just enough to breathe, re-center and recognize that not all growth can be rushed.

If you’re in a season of waiting right now, you’re not alone. Whether you're waiting for a breakthrough, healing, direction, or simply a sense of peace, you are seen. And while the world may rush on, there’s nothing wrong with taking time to pause.

In fact, it may be exactly what you need.

If you'd like to explore more about waiting with purpose, finding hope in delay, or connecting with a community learning how to navigate the slow seasons together, we’d love to invite you into the conversation.
