The Obstruction in Me

In this message, Pastor Hinman addresses the role of a Jesus follower in a divisive world by turning our eyes toward God, who is at the same time majestic and holy and also tender to those who have been crushed. Pastor Hinman invites us to self examination, to consider how culture, rather than the word of God, may have shaped or influenced our beliefs about ourselves, about race, about justice and about God. As we “prepare God’s highway,” we would do well to look for obstacles that may reside in our own minds and hearts.

Message Response:
I commit to self examination and to pray Psalm 139:23-24.

Reflection Question:
In a divided world, what obstructions are there in me?
