Blessed Assurance
As part of the Back to Basics message series, Pastor Hurmon speaks to the resurrection of Jesus, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. The resurrection of Jesus (life after death) is a cornerstone of the Christian faith. The resurrection provided the hope that moved the historical disciples of Jesus to advance the kingdom of God even at risk of great harm to themselves, and which continues to move us into relationship with God and inspires us to act based on that relationship. The resurrection of Jesus gives us assurance that death is temporary, that we will experience the joy of new bodies, the joy of expanded understanding, the joy of renewed relationships with others, and the promise of unimaginable adventures in everlasting life. Ultimately, the resurrection of Jesus anchors us to Him and provides us with confidence of our ultimate status as children of God and of our home in heaven.
